Digital Marketing and Analytics Skills Reflection
Throughout the module on digital
marketing and analytics, I learned three key skills that will be useful to me
if I pursue a career in digital marketing.
SWOT Analysis
As a learner, the experience in writing a SWOT analysis has helped me able to critically understand how businesses are attracting customers. The analysis is a tool that identifies opportunities for businesses like Myprotein to improve and grow. For example, using the analysis I have identified Myprotein's weaknesses that have an opportunity to enable the business to target a larger audience which is to open a store.
My understanding of the difficulties that firms
experience in competing with their rivals has improved thanks to the SWOT
analysis. There will inevitably be issues as the competitive market expands,
therefore it is imperative to address them as soon as they arise.
As a result, being able to see issues and find
solutions has helped me become more intelligent and successful in my thinking,
which will help me compete with rivals if I ever decide to start a business.
Website Analysis
The second skill I believe I have attained is the ability to conduct a website analysis. Using the Myprotein website, I had to identify the key features that make the overall experience satisfying enough for customers to use the service on a regular basis.
The entire website analysis experience has taught me the
importance of first impressions when competing with other businesses.
Aesthetics, for example, is critical in capturing the attention of the
audience. This leads to considerations about website accessibility and the
question of what distinguishes my website from competitors. The final skill is identifying an online value proposition, which demonstrates the advantages of purchasing your
products rather than those of your competitors.
In the future, my plan is to start my own business once I achieve
my degree. The skills gained from the website analysis will allow me to design
an accessible and appealing website that promotes my products and competes in
the market I choose to pursue.
Article Evaluation
The second work of the module on digital marketing and analytics requested me to evaluate
an article on the topic of "Artificial Intelligence revolutionizing
digital marketing" and to create a summary of its contents.
As a
learner, the experience of conducting an article evaluation has given me the
ability to critically analyze the components of the evaluation and determine
whether it is a valuable source. For example, the theoretical framework is the
research problem that introduces the topic of the article. This is followed by
a discussion of research methods and design to investigate the concepts of AI
and the current state of its application in digital marketing. Finally, sources
are valuable because the results contain evidence from first-hand experiments
such as targeting people to complete questionnaires and surveys.
This task taught me how to critically analyze a paper and use my detective skills to decipher the concepts of what the article is telling me. For example, it will make it easier to find and evaluate sources, as well as interpret what they are trying to say. The evaluation review has taught me the importance of using credible sources that provide backed-up data to prove the argument.
Other modules will require me to conduct article evaluations to write essays. This will benefit me to put the skills into practice and understand sources with ease and critically appraise the content with honest opinions.
Overall, the entire digital marketing and analytics module has greatly aided me in continuing to learn how to sell your items from many perspectives. Whether it entails researching how to build a website to market your goods or analyzing your competitors. It's all helpful, and I'm glad I attended the module.
